Clemens Völkl studied in Vienna, London and Stockholm. He was an assistant at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Vienna for 4 years. He then worked for several renowned commercial law firms before becoming a partner at Völkl Rechtsanwälte in 2010.

He is a university lecturer at the Institute for Civil and Corporate Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, a lecturer at, among others, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Lawyers’ Academy, the author of numerous specialist books and over 50 articles in specialist journals.

Clemens is a member of the foundation board, a member of the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für Finanzmarktrecht (ZFR), chairman of the Gesellschaft für Finanzmarktrecht, a member of the European Law Institute and its Special Interest Group on Insurance Law and a member of specialist panels of the Institut Österreichischer Wirtschaftsprüfer (IWP).
